This game is ideal for 3+ pre-schooler to Reception.
We love this game as my little girl enjoys going on a good hunt for anything - lost shoes, a missing bunny, her hiding brother...and adding a level of fun learning to it is great!

If you have an alphabet rug then that's great, but if not you can print off A4 sized letters or just draw them yourself. To add a bit of extra fun, why not colour in the letters too!
Then, lay them out and ask your little one to go on a hunt around the house for items which begin with each letter. You may only get through 2 or 3 at a time, but this is a great game to do together.
5 to 10 minutes will fly by and they will love having fun with mummy.
The younger children may not know what letters are yet so you can help by making the "AAAAA...Apple"sound. Hold the item up (in this example, the apple), and ask them what it is. When they say "Apple", repeat the "AAAAA...Apple".

Ask them to then take the item and place it on the A. Again you may need to help with this for the pre-schoolers, but the older Reception year children may be more able to do this alone. 5 to 10 minutes will fly by and they will love having fun with mum and/or dad.
