Where did The CALM MUMMY METHOD come from? From a deep desire to keep my home hospitable and hygenic despite how very little time I have to do so. From work to family, and volunteering to keeping friendships alive as well as food shopping, cooking and having the occasional shower, life is pretty filled up. Sure I could step away from social media a little more, but I genuinely love it and enjoy my time spent on it.
So I needed to find a way to get the job done which would be easy to utilise; could be a natural part of my life; which had a clear beginning and end; and which would feel like a good habit rather then the horrible endless, thankless, anxiety-ridden task it presently was.
It also entails Calm Food, Calm Play and Calm Fashion, which when all put together help to create a more streamline day-to-day life - but more on them to come!
Time Poor Anxiety Rich
Looking for a way to ease my need to keep a clean (if not tidy) house without stressing my already anxious mind out further whilst also getting a little hit of happy chemical at the end of a job well done seemed impossible but seemed like a good idea.
So the Calm Home Method was born (and you can find tips and planners to help you on your journey too). And this isn't just for mummys despite the name. Anyone who struggles with time can use any of these methods in this blog...just adapt them to your own life and routine.

The 5:2 Calm Cycle
The Calm Cycle allows you to get everything which needed doing around the house fully completed by Friday so you can simply let the weekend go by without feeling the need to clean! You can relax guilt free knowing you have completed your mission for the week and aside from surface level clean up after the kids or dinner prep, you have nothing left to do.
How good would that feel?
So here is your plan for Monday to Friday:
Make It Shine Monday
This means polish and wipe and make it gleam. Anything and everything with a surface, clean it down.
*
Tidy Tuesday
This literally means tidy up. Put away and organise those loose bits-and-bobs which have been hanging around on the upstairs cabinet and your bedroom floor and kitchen counter for weeks and feels the stress melting away.
*
Wed-nesday Bed-nesday
What it suggests: sort out those bedrooms.
*
Thirsty Thursday
The rooms with water (sinks/baths/showers/toilets) get a cleaning today
*
Friday Floors
Yup…give those floors some love.
The details of each day can be found in subsequent blogs or in the CALM PLANNERS section so pop over and download one anytime and get started creating a sense of peace in your life and home with the CALM MUMMY METHOD.
