Tidy Tuesday - does that fill you with dread? Tidying up?? Surely that is what we already do round the clock as parents and busy women?! Why is that on the daily plan?
Well ladies, tidying is so crucial to ensuring all the other aspects of The CALM MUMMY METHOD works. But if you are anything like me, the idea of tidying up sounds horrofying even if the end result feels so good. Fear not I've got your back on this one as the joy of this method is that you are infact tidying throughout the week without really realising so come Tuesday you are not feeling overwhelmed by the mess and it's a doddle to do!

Make It Shine Monday requires you to clear surfaces before you polish them, Bed-nesday Wed-nesday is all about sorting out the bedrooms, Thirsty Thursday will call for you to clean and tidy the rooms with the water/sinks and Friday Floors obviously needs cleared floor spaces before you can hoover or steam. You see, you will have been tidying all week, meaning that as long as you are sticking to the method, come Tuesday you can do a quick picking-up-sweep of the main rooms (bedrooms and bathrooms have their own days remember) and then get to grips with the 'messy corners'; the letter pile (and all the other paperwork which ends up in said pile), the kids toys, the desk, the ebay /charity shop pile and whatever else you struggle to get on top of.
The magic of The CALM MUMMY METHOD is that you will have been tidying all week, meaning that on Tuesday you can do a quick sweep of the main rooms and then get to grips with the messy corners.
It's those spaces you never get round to which need more effort than any other and they can put you off starting, but once you have them in hand, (which may take one Tidy Tuesday or several depending on how many Stuff Piles you have lying around), then you may only need to do a quick zap around each room and put away things which do not need to be out...the escapee toys, the boxes on the counter top, the recycling which doesn't fit in the overflowing recycling bag (yes that can be taken down on Tidy Tuesday!), etc.
Tidy As You go
The reason I love this method is that by Tuesday I have already done most of the work without realising. It would be too overwhleming to have to tidy the entire house in one go...so having time spent on seperate rooms and a then a day dedicated to tidying only means you can get on top of the one thing that will make your home look picture perfect...clear surfaces, clear floors and tidy rooms.
